From Romania’s royal past to Bulgaria’s hidden treasures – a journey designed for discovery

Enjoy a seamless private transfer that takes you beyond transportation. With optional sightseeing stops carefully selected for their historical, cultural, and natural significance, your trip becomes a curated experience.

This cross-border journey from Romania to Bulgaria (or vice versa) can include legendary castles, spiritual retreats, and some of the most unique geological formations in Eastern Europe.

Optional Sightseeing Stops

Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) – Romania

Rising dramatically above the Transylvanian border with Wallachia, Bran Castle blends medieval architecture with myth. Built in the 13th century and transformed into a royal residence for Queen Marie, it gained global fame as the fictional home of Dracula. Today, visitors explore richly furnished rooms and towers filled with royal artifacts and gothic ambiance.

Peleș Castle – Sinaia, Romania

In the mountain town of Sinaia, Peleș Castle is a showcase of 19th-century elegance and European royal life. Commissioned by King Carol I, this Neo-Renaissance masterpiece was the world’s first electrified castle. Each room displays a different artistic theme, and the grounds include hunting lodges, stables, and guard quarters — all beautifully preserved.

Comana Monastery – Romania

Originally built by Vlad the Impaler in 1461, Comana Monastery was both a place of worship and a military fortress. Surrounded by wetlands, the site was once accessible only by a wooden bridge. A headless skeleton found here in the 1970s has fueled speculation that this may be Vlad’s true burial place, near the site where he was killed in battle.

Rock-Hewn Churches of Ivanovo – Bulgaria

Carved into rock cliffs along the Rusenski Lom River valley, these medieval rock churches were used by monks between the 13th and 17th centuries. Once numbering around 40 churches and 300 monastic dwellings, today’s surviving structures are UNESCO-listed for their preserved frescoes, which represent a pinnacle of Orthodox religious art from the Second Bulgarian Empire.

Prohodna Cave (“God’s Eyes”) – Bulgaria

A geological wonder in the Iskar Gorge, Prohodna Cave is famous for the two large, natural openings in its ceiling, nicknamed “God’s Eyes”. The cave is accessible from both ends — the Small and Big Entrances — and is a popular destination for climbers and adventurers. The spiritual and surreal atmosphere of this cave offers a powerful natural contrast to the historical sites on this route.
