This is more than a transfer — it’s an immersive journey into the heart of Romania’s architectural and historical legacy. Optional Sightseeing Stops
Peleș Castle – Sinaia
A royal residence nestled in the Carpathian Mountains, Peleș Castle is a stunning example of German new-Renaissance architecture. Built in 1873 by King Carol I, it was the first castle in Europe fully powered by electricity. Each room features a distinct decorative style — from Florentine to Moorish — offering a unique glimpse into 19th-century aristocratic life.
Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle)
Shrouded in myth and legend, Bran Castle stands atop a rocky cliff at the border of Transylvania and Wallachia. While popularly associated with Bram Stoker’s Dracula, its real history is equally captivating. Built by the Teutonic Knights and later used as a royal residence by Queen Marie, it now functions as a museum housing her personal collection of art and furniture.
Curtea de Argeș Monastery
An emblem of Romanian Orthodoxy and national folklore, Curtea de Argeș Monastery features elaborate Byzantine-Moorish architecture and is home to the famous Legend of Master Manole, who, according to the tale, immured his wife in the walls so the church would stand. A deeply symbolic and spiritual site.
Făgăraș Citadel
One of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in Romania, Făgăraș Citadel has stood since the 14th century. Expanded over time, it includes 85 rooms, defensive bastions, and even a torture chamber. It now houses the Făgăraș County Museum and offers visitors a powerful blend of military history and legend.
Sibiu – European Capital of Culture
Once the stronghold of Transylvanian Saxons, Sibiu is a cultural gem recognized as European Capital of Culture in 2007. With its cobbled streets, pastel-colored facades, and vast market squares, the city’s Old Town remains a perfectly preserved example of Germanic medieval urbanism. It’s also a top destination for arts, gastronomy, and architecture.
Corvin Castle – Hunedoara
Among the most imposing Gothic castles in Europe, Corvin Castle (also known as Hunyadi Castle) is a true architectural marvel. Built in the 15th century by John Hunyadi, the structure boasts soaring towers, a dramatic drawbridge, ornate stone carvings, and a richly decorated Great Hall. Later additions include the Artillery Tower, White Tower, and the Large Palace, making the site as grand as it is historic.
